“What do you feed your dogs ?”

High Quality Kibble

For our dogs we have chosen Reico Vital as our fundamental dog food. It’s natural, high quality dog food with a outstanding acceptance and fair prices. The brand specializes in natural pet food designed to optimize mineral balance in dogs. Their focus lies not on a single ingredient, but on the interaction of the components. The variety of nutrients can gently support the body’s own regulation processes and its mineral balance – for metabolism and digestion, as well as nerve and muscle function.

We identify with the philosophy of the brand:

  • Sustainability and care for nature, from beginning to the end and a holistic approach to pet nutrition. It’s gluten- and lactose-free and produced without animal testing. It is rich in high-quality animal proteins, such as muscle meat, heart, and liver and is free from artificial additives like flavour enhancers and preservatives.
Fresh Meat

While our dog food covers all of our dogs needs, we daily add some fresh snacks. I refuse to get them processed dog snacks for exorbitant prices while we have access to

  • naturally, home raised and grass-fed beef,
  • free roaming poultry and eggs,
  • local and fresh venison
  • fresh giblets
Fresh Fish

Seafood is not everyone’s favourite here (Vergil is not much of a fish eater) but the rest of the pack loves it. Fish is Halo’s all times favourite next to Dentastix (speaking about healthy haha, but sometimes we all are allowed to be a sweet tooth.)

  • Trout and Salmon
  • Cod
  • Mackerel
  • Tuna
  • Herring, Sardines and Sprats
Vegetables

Our dogs get Veggies almost daily. Especially the puppies love them. Some of their favourites are

  • Carrots and Peas
  • Zucchini
  • Spinach
  • Pumpkin and Sweet Potato
  • Parsley
Fruit

Though Vergil skips the fish, he’s a berry lover. In the summer he plucks them by himself. Fruit is a beloved snack here, just always make sure to remove seeds and pits before you feed them. We feed regularly

  • Bananas
  • Apples and Pears
  • Watermelon
  • Strawberries, Raspberries and sometimes Cherries
  • Blueberries

Though it bares risks, it’s not possible to keep them away from our plum tree. They are like crazy for plums and luckily they don’t chew on the pits, instead the pits end up as decoration on their poo afterwards.
