Yona

In Cherokee culture the name Yona means ‘bear’ and it describes her well. Her mahogany undercoat with black markings glows like smouldering ember in the sunlight and her bright eyes are striking. Yona descent from old DDR lines and complementary to East German Working lines she demonstrates the classic strong bone build, without being overdone or too bulky like many examples we lately see being breed according to the newest trend. After leaving her breeding home and arriving here with us, a completely different world opened up for her. It took her a while to trust, unwind and to show her true personality and enormous gratitude for love and affection given to her. She loves you with everything she possibly can provide and she’s very cuddly. Yona never provokes, never starts trouble and always tries to avoid conflicts but stands her ground fairly when being challenged. She is a solid, open minded, gentle and joyful lady. She is sweet to puppies and the other dogs in the pack. Yona behaves well everywhere, never mind if at the vet, in the city or surrounded by people, she stays calm and open towards strangers and other animals. Yona has a natural herding drive, medium energy and perfect food and toy motivation for training. She passed her health tests and x-ray examination with flying colours and is now fully integrated to the pack.

• Yona loves balls and can entertain herself all day long by bringing it up the hill and letting it roll down to chase it.
